Acronyms used on the Pumping Moms List

When moms first join our list, they are often confused by many of the acronyms that we use in our messages. Using these kinds of shortcuts is very common on the internet and many of the ones we use are used every where you go. Others are common mostly in online parenting and breastfeeding support circles. And a few are unique just for us.

The following list includes the most common used by our members, plus the ones that you'll find no where else. If you want to know what someting not on this list means, there are web sites that list them all that you can go to. Here are two:

b/c - because or birth control
BF - Breastfed
BFIP - Breastfeed in Public
BM - Breast milk (but we don't use that one, we use MM)
BTDT - Been there, Done that
DC - Day Care
DCP - Day Care Provider
DD - Dear Daughter
DH - Dear (or Damn) Husband
DS - Dear Son
EBF - Exclusively Breastfed
EBM - Expressed Breast Milk (but we don't like to use this one!)
EMM - Expressed Mother Milk (our preference)
EP - Exclusive Pumping
FF - Formula Fed
FTR - For the Record
FWIW - For what it's worth
HCP - Health Care Profession(al)
HMBAHA - Human Milk Banking Association of North America
